Case Study Gerling

Field of work: CGI

The photographer Manfred Daams wanted to change things in the picture that the room would show itself from its ideal look:

clean but at the same time with an emphasis on the historical architecture.

We agreed on doing a CGI project rebuilding the room in 3D. Thus we were able to make a complete new lightning on the people and the room afterwards. The removal of disturbing objects and the making of a new scenery were also a task.

After the shooting the image was edited. The persons were freed from the room and a darker photo was prepared as a texture for the 3D model. Apart from doing a new illumination, the idea was to render the shadows to be able to apply them on the models.

In the end the rendered picture needed some digital editing. The picture is made in collaboration wit Manfred Daams.
